Current exhibition in the Synagogue: THE MAN WHO RESISTED THE EVIL Richard Glazar (1920-1997)
Ing. Richard Glazar was a Czechoslovak Jewish, one of few who succeeded in escaping from the extermination camp Treblinka. He survived to be able to witness Nazi crimes. He wrote his story down immediately after the war in the book called Treblinka, a word like from a nursery rhyme. However, the book was not published until 1994. For the current tourist season, Mr. And Mrs. Jouza prepared an exhibition devoted to Richard Glazar.
This year we commemorate 600 years from the first mention of Kolín Synagogue. Apart from the permanent exhibition ´They Lived Here With Us´, you can also visit the exhibition ´Years Of Sorrow And Distress´. This exhibition, based on memories and other materials, depicts the tragic years 1938 – 1945 focusing on Kolín transports in 1942. This year we remember 80 years since this tragic event. We would like to invite you to this exhibition.
